Hoi Polloi collaborated with actress Lelia Goldoni on stagings of Beckett’s Footfalls, Rockaby, and the radio play, Cascando — a pairing that began after Goldoni saw Hoi Polloi’s stage adaptation of John Cassavetes’ Shadows, the 1959 film that made her a fundamental figure in the birth of American independent cinema.
